The LORD Is My Shepherd

The Upsilonians Came to Condole

"Brother Jun Alegre '53 - when I meet you brother in the sun, I shall tell you much. "

Now I understand why the leaders of Upsilon are called Illustrious Fellows, they look up to the sun and they endeavor to live their lives to illuminate others - to inspire and energize. Papa, you are worthy to be called an Upsilonion. I wish the younger generations take this to heart. Thank you Professor Vergara - you made our last moment with our Dad more meaningful by adding wonderful pieces to the puzzle.... your testimonial shed another aspect of his life. We are more than grateful.

Francisco, also known as Pacoy shown with his family: Daughter Eileen and her family; Winston and his wife, Raul and his wife and grand children. Pacoy now lives in Daly City California. He is a dear brother of Simplicio.

Solomon & Jose Alegre are sons of the former Ernesto Alegre, the eldest in the Family. Sommy on lives in Isabela while Pepe lives with his family in Cainta.

Mission of This Blog

This blog is created to continue the bond that was formed out of my father's quest to search for his roots. He was told by his father that the Alegre family came from fro Paoay Ilocos Norte. And so he embarked on a pilgrimage in search of his relatives in Ilocos Norte and there, he breathed his last.

He didn't get to see his relatives in Paoay but as soon as the Alegres of Paoay heard about a news that a man died in search of his roots, they all flocked to the parlor where he lied in state for a night.... and so started the beginning of this blog.

Its mission is to keep the bond of the Alegre Family. Being Ilocanos, we are a wanderer - always searching for fresh opportunities wherever it is in the world. One can find an Alegre in all the places in the Philippines, Hawaii and the US Mainland.

We would like to keep the fire burning. Any one who carries with them the Alegre blood line is free to post an article, a picture, a news.
